Description
SBK 09: Superbike World Championship is the officially licensed game of the Superbike World Championship motorcycle league. The main focus is on realistic simulation of riding physics. Over the course of the season, the player takes on the role of one of 27 licensed riders and competes on 13 of the tracks from the 2008/2009 season (the Nürburgring is not available). There are up to eight practice sessions per race, including free practice and warm-up. In the garage, the player can tune almost every aspect of their motorcycle in detail. Beginners can delegate this to an engineer. Of course, there's also the option to play just a single race weekend or jump straight into a quick race.
Compared to its predecessor, there are two notable changes: riding aids for beginners and 20 challenges. In these, the player must either complete specific tasks in predefined situations, e.g. winning the race with worn brakes, or reach checkpoints within a limited time frame.
