Rugby 15 - Boxed - PS3

Rugby 15 is a rugby game featuring licences for the clubs of the Top 14, Pro D2, Aviva Premiership and Pro12 competitions. Each team also has its own stadium in the game. The official statistics for the 2014-2015 season are included, as are real players and kits. For the developers, it's the first rugby game since the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and the title is a nod back to when they developed rugby games for Electronic Arts, with Rugby 08 being the last of those titles. For the sport in general, it's the first licensed rugby game since 2013's Rugby Challenge 2.

The game offers individual matches or play within one of the licensed competitions, with support for custom and specific rules. Up to four players can take part in a local match, but there's no support for online multiplayer. There's no career mode, nor any options for customising teams and players. The rules of the game are conveyed through static information screens and in-game tips; there's no tutorial. Every individual player can be controlled during matches, and several difficulty options are available. The game is commentated by Stuart Barnes and Miles Harrison.

Rather than a simulation, the game offers an arcade approach, and players can perform moves such as sidesteps, hand-offs, pop passes, shoulder charges, grubber kicks, drop goals and tackles. More complex moves such as cross-field kicks, up-and-unders and behind-the-back passes are also supported. Teams can be managed during, before and after the match, with various statistics available. The line-up can also be changed quickly.
