Description
The player steps into Jason's sandals, watching over his shoulder and controlling him in traditional action-adventure fashion, similar to games like Rune (just without the jumping), as he roams the lands, talks to the inhabitants and fulfils their wishes, all while keeping his main goal in sight. Of course, Jason's story isn't just about walking and talking. He has many enemies who wish him dead, but three different weapon types (swords, maces and spears) as well as his trusty shield ensure he can defend himself. Jason can quickly switch between all weapons at the press of a button, allowing him to perform powerful combos by combining both the normal attack and the stronger, more brutal executioner's move, and some of them have special abilities, such as knocking down all nearby enemies, activated by a two-button combination.
But Jason also has many friends. Besides Hercules, other mythical heroes accompany him on his journey and support him in battle. They also grow stronger when Jason is near them, unleashing powerful special abilities. If a companion dies, Jason can revive them, and if he takes too much damage, he only needs to get out of the line of fire for a few seconds to regenerate.
Jason doesn't rely entirely on his muscles either - he is also supported by four gods: Apollo, Athena, Ares and Hermes. Each god gives Jason access to a different skill tree with many different kinds of buffs and abilities waiting to be unlocked. This happens in two ways: on the one hand, you can gain the favour of the gods by talking to people and choosing the appropriate answers for the god whose favour the player is seeking. At the same time, Jason more or less automatically performs deeds on his journey, such as killing 35 people (Manslayer IV), which he can then attribute to a god of his choice. Once a certain amount of favour has been earned, an aspect point becomes available, which can be spent in the respective deity's skill tree.
