Operation Flashpoint: Red River - Boxed - PS3

In Operation Flashpoint: Red River, players take control of Outlaw 2-Bravo, a fireteam of the United States Marine Corps in a fictional conflict in Tajikistan in 2013. A terrorist group known as ETIM launches mortar attacks on a US base in Afghanistan, prompting the United States to launch Operation Enduring Shield, in which the Marine Corps invades western Tajikistan and wipes out the insurgent threat. As the conflict progresses, the People's Liberation Army of neighbouring China intervenes, attacking both American and terrorist forces. Most of the events in the game depict the Marine Corps' desperate struggle against the overwhelming Chinese forces.

The gameplay is pretty much what you'd expect from an Operation Flashpoint game. The player can choose between four classes of Marines to play as: Rifleman, Grenadier, Scout and Automatic Rifleman, each with their own weapons and abilities. During the game, they gather experience that can be used to unlock weapons, attachments and perks. Enemies are capable of killing the player with a single shot, depending on the hit zone. Making proper use of the squad members available to the player is crucial to success. The player also has the option of playing the campaign cooperatively.
