Description
1997 edition of EA's NHL sports simulation series. Improvements in this edition come mainly in the graphics area, with a refined version of the "virtual stadium" system that adds new camera perspectives (including the classic top-down view, which oddly was missing from NHL 96), and polygonal players instead of bitmap-based ones with motion capture animations. Other extras include multiplayer support for up to 8 players over the network or Gravis's GrIP system, the ability to create and trade new players, and the usual amount of multimedia flair that EA Sports has licensed, including an interesting "Goalie Mask Viewer" that lets you view the elaborately decorated helmets of 30 goalies.
