Metal Gear Solid 2 - Boxed - PS2

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is the sequel to the spy action game Metal Gear Solid. Much of the gameplay stays the same, as the game's protagonist has to sneak past guards, outwit them with various gadgets, and defeat tricky boss enemies. There's a wide range of weapons that can be picked up throughout the game, some old, like the FAMAS and the Socom, and some new, like the AK-47. Martial arts combos can be used to take out guards. It's possible to crawl through small spaces, peek around corners, and perform acrobatic jumps to escape. The protagonist can also hang from railings to effectively hide from guards, or press their weapon into a guard's back to surprise them. The cardboard box also makes a return and can once again be used for hiding.
Gadgets such as the sneaking suit, the mine detector, thermal goggles and others can be found along the way. The radar from the original game is still present, warning the player of guards' positions and showing their field of view. If an alarm is triggered, the radar is deactivated and the hero has to flee. In some situations, it's necessary to activate the radar before it can be used.
Like its predecessor, the game relies heavily on Codec conversations and cutscenes. All cutscenes in the game use the game's 3D engine; the characters' movements are motion-capture animations.
