In Medal of Honor: Vanguard, players take on the role of Corporal Frank Keegan of the 82nd Airborne Division during the Second World War. He is dropped behind enemy lines and must complete several missions in Italy, France, the Netherlands and Germany. He fights alongside AI comrades for the liberation of Europe.
These missions require blowing up anti-aircraft guns, rescuing fellow soldiers and taking out enemy tanks with rocket launchers. Players can customise their weapons individually by adding a scope or a larger ammo drum. Similar to Medal of Honor: Airborne, players parachute onto the battlefield during certain missions and can choose which starting location they want to complete the mission from. There is no vehicle-based gameplay in this version.
Besides the single-player campaign, there are also 5 split-screen multiplayer modes for up to 4 players: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill and Scavenger Hunt. Online gameplay is not supported.
