Journey into Mystery #120 with Thor in an exciting comic adventure from the 1960s. The story is by Stan Lee (writing) and Jack Kirby (art). The comic is in used condition.
In the series Journey into Mystery, Marvel's legendary Norse thunder god Thor made his first appearance in issue 83 (August 1962). From then on he was the hero of the series in every issue up to #125. Starting with issue 126, the series was renamed Thor instead of restarting at number 1. This was common practice at Marvel at the time for cost reasons. For each new series, publishers had to obtain a new sales number/licence from the US Postal Service in order to benefit from the favourable printed-matter rate. If only the title was changed while the numbering continued, the Postal Service could be fooled for a while, saving money. This publishing policy still causes headaches for many collectors today, who search for non-existent issue numbers of a series ...
