Description
This one-man-army hero video game, based largely on the Iron Man film from 2008, was released on seven different platforms.
In the Iron Man game, you slip into the shoes of Tony Stark. He is a billionaire weapons industrialist and genius inventor who, after being kidnapped by terrorists who want to force him to build weapons for them, builds a suit instead to escape. Since then, he has decided to stop producing weapons and continues to work on the suit to fight the terrorists.
The games continue the story and give the player the opportunity to complete more than 12 different missions and even fight villains that don't appear in the film, such as Whiplash and Titanium Man. All of this is shown through cutscenes between the individual missions, in which the voices of actors from the film such as Robert Downey Jr. and Terrence Howard can be heard.
On foot or in the air, with the first suit at the beginning and later in the characteristic red and gold suit, with ranged weapons or close combat attacks, Stark fights in the game against armies of soldiers, tanks, helicopters, cannons and more with the help of a range of upgradeable weapons such as missiles, micro grenades, repulsor shots, EMP blasts, a flame thrower and the powerful "Unibeam". Both the weapons and the suit (propulsion and armour systems) are upgradeable, and in most versions there are many special suits from the comics to unlock.
The differences of this version from the Xbox 360/PS3 version consist of the changed graphics and the changed upgrade system (instead of spending money on it, the player's equipment is upgraded based on its use).
