Grand Theft Auto V - Boxed - PS3

Grand Theft Auto V takes place five years after Grand Theft Auto IV and is now set in Los Santos. It centres on three protagonists: Michael, Trevor and Franklin. New to the series is the ability for the player to switch between the three characters during the game. Each of them has different missions, lives and personalities. They also often come together, particularly for heists, a complex type of mission in which a large operation must be planned and executed by setting a strategy and hiring additional crew members. As in previous instalments of the series, the gameplay involves shootouts and takes place in a sprawling, open city, where players move around by acquiring vehicles (cars, boats, helicopters, etc.) in not entirely legal ways. Players can roam the game world, complete story missions and engage in various illegal activities, including shooting civilians, carrying out robberies, destroying cars and the titular car theft. These activities lead to a wanted level of up to five stars, which brings the police into play. If you continue to resist the police, the wanted level increases further. You lose wanted status by staying out of sight or respraying the car.

Michael, who has been hiding in the witness protection programme for nine years following a botched heist, meets Franklin, who, in his role as a repo man, is supposed to collect a car from Michael's son Jimmy. However, Michael realises that Franklin has been set up, and tells Franklin to drive his son's car to the dealership that sent him. Afterwards, the two become friends. One day, Michael discovers his wife in bed with another man and, with Franklin's help, chases him to a mansion, which they promptly burn down. Unfortunately, the mansion belongs to Mexican drug lord Martin Madrazo, who demands compensation from them for their act. They successfully rob a jewellery store, and one of Michael's old partners, Trevor, hears about it and asks to team up with the other two, who agree. From here on, their lives spiral out of control.

The multiplayer component of the game is called GTA Online. It is set two months before the start of the single-player story. It allows up to 16 players (PS3 / Xbox 360) or 30 players (Xbox One / PS4 / PC) to travel through a world identical to the single-player world in order to complete story-driven activities, both competitively and cooperatively.

The later-released PS4, Xbox One and PC versions have various improvements and additional features. Technical upgrades include an increased draw distance and support for higher resolutions. New content includes new weapons, vehicles and activities, additional wildlife, denser traffic, a new foliage system, and improved damage and weather effects. The Dodo is a classic GTA seaplane, there are stock car races with additional liveries, a new Imponte Duke O'Death vehicle, the Marshall monster truck and the Xero blimp. There are new shooting challenges and new weapons such as the Railgun and the axe. New animal photography challenges let players unlock the Kraken submarine. A new murder mystery can be solved to unlock film noir game filters. Monkey mosaics are a new collectible that can be used to unlock monkey outfits and the Monkey Blista. There are also 100 additional songs spread across the 17 existing radio stations. The most striking new feature is the full first-person perspective for the entire game, allowing the player to shoot, run and drive from this perspective. There are also completely new animations for the view, showing the hands when getting into cars or during melee combat, and the vehicles have fully functional interiors, HUDs and interfaces.
