Description
DW5: Empires brings the Empire mode to the latest DW game, while the basic hack and slash, button-mashing gameplay remains the same.
Empire mode adds a strategy overlay to the base game, with a map of 25 territories to conquer. Each round consists of two parts: controlling the empire and waging war. Your territories bring in tax revenue each round, which you can spend on various actions. You can create items and tactics for your generals to use in battle. You can recruit generals and troops, fortify your territories, and use many other command options. You can wage war against other territories or defend your own. For each battle, you choose which generals and lieutenants will fight. There are 4 scenarios to unlock, although they barely differ from one another.
There is a split-screen co-op mode for two players, either in Empire or Free mode. In addition to the soundtrack of the base game, this edition also includes soundtracks from earlier titles, including Dynasty Warriors 2, Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 4.
