Captain America #111
Comic: Captain America #111Language: English
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Year: March 1969
Condition: Very Good, VG, 4.0
Captain America #111 brings an absolute classic with the Captain from the late Silver Age of comics. The story was drawn by the legendary Jim Steranko. The issue is in a used condition.
Captain America is one of the earliest heroes in comic history. This superpatriot in the American flag costume was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 in March 1941. In the years after the Second World War, many of the patriotic superheroes became superfluous, sales of many comics declined, and Captain America was finally discontinued in 1954. His great revival came ten years later in March 1964 in Avengers #4, when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby brought him back to life and helped him to great popularity. From November 1964 he then shared the comic Tales of Suspense (from issue 59) with Iron Man and remained in the series until issue 99. With issue 100, Tales of Suspense was officially renamed Captain America . So #100 is essentially #1 of Captain America in the Silver Age.
