Captain America #187
Comic: Captain America #187Language: English
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Year: July 1975
Condition: Fine/Very Fine, FN/VF, 7.0
Captain America #187 with a story from the Bronze Age of comics. The comic is in good condition.
Captain America is one of the earliest heroes in comic history. This superpatriot in an American flag costume was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 in March 1941. In the years after World War II, many patriotic superheroes became redundant, sales figures for many comics fell, and Captain America was eventually discontinued in 1954. His great revival came ten years later, in March 1964, in Avengers #4, when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby brought him back to life and helped him achieve great popularity. From November 1964 he then shared the comic Tales of Suspense (from issue 59) with Iron Man and remained in the series until issue 99. With issue 100, Tales of Suspense was officially renamed Captain America. So #100 is effectively #1 of Captain America in the Silver Age.
