Description
In 007: Tomorrow Never Dies, based on the film of the same name, the player takes on the role of the famous James Bond, who fights against Elliot Carver. Carver is trying to boost his TV ratings by starting a war between the British and the Chinese. To achieve his goal, he uses his stealth ship to sink a British vessel and makes it look as though the Chinese air force was responsible. It's now up to Bond to set things right ...
Most of the ten levels resemble traditional third-person shooters, in which the player moves through the levels while eliminating numerous enemies. While there is a free-aim option, most enemies can be dealt with using the auto-lock feature. This means that if the player gets close enough to an enemy with a suitable weapon, the game automatically fires on them as long as the player is looking in the general direction. Bond also has gadgets that are used to complete mission objectives. There are two missions that deviate from this formula: in the driving sequence, the player chases and shoots at enemy cars while dodging obstacles; in the skiing sequence, the main focus is on taking out other skiers who are trying to throw him off balance.
