The amazingtoys.ch website has moved!
The old web design was with us for 15 years and has now slowly had its day. It was time to bring a breath of fresh air into the dusty old place. In a cloak-and-dagger operation, the online shop was moved to a new server by the Sparkojote and the old website was turned into a new blog.
Moving amazingtoys.ch
What does the move bring with it? What can you expect? New features have gone live in the online shop: among other things, we have added payment by MasterCard and VISA. More may well follow in future, such as AliPay, ApplePay, SamsungPay and the like.
We will gradually rework the content of the old website and bring you the interesting topics as blog posts. It is not as if the old site had had its day in terms of content. It was simply no longer quite up to date in terms of design. Some also fondly called it old-fashioned (or old school).
Captain Collector
Here on the blog I will be posting about all sorts of topics that touch on the comic medium in the broadest sense. Who am I? My name is Thomas, but I am not the Sparkojote – I am his father, aka Captain Collector. I have been reading and collecting comics since 1970 and have also been working actively as a seller for more than 20 years. Over those years I gained experience in 3 comic shops, which I can put to excellent use at the Amazing Comic Shop today.
The alter ego Captain Collector grew out of the idea of creating a mascot for the Amazing Comic Shop. Combining a Captain America with the role of the comic collector, wrapped in the bright orange of Amazing, was the obvious choice. At some point he took on a life of his own, and I began signing articles and texts on the internet as Captain Collector.
Did you know that superheroes have to pay bills too? That is why most of them work part-time in a comic shop.
