Worms - SNES - DE

Worms is a turn-based strategy game. There are up to 4 teams with 4 worms each, trying to destroy the others on generated terrain. Each worm has 100 hit points and dies when its hit points fall to 0. Upon death, a worm explodes and causes damage to everyone around it. Gameplay is turn-based. In each turn, the player can control a certain worm from their team. The worm can crawl or jump left and right. However, there is a time limit to perform a move; furthermore, the worm loses hit points when falling from great heights and the turn ends immediately; and if a worm falls into water or off the screen, it dies. In each turn, a worm can also perform a single attack: the player can aim up and down, select a weapon and then fire it. After the attack, the turn ends. Many weapons are available - standard weapons such as bazookas (affected by (random) wind settings and gravity) and grenades. Others include a flamethrower, dynamite, air strikes and utilities such as ropes and girders. There are 10 different terrain types, ranging from forests and deserts to Candyland and the Moon (with corresponding gravity). Shots leave craters in the ground, and complex tunnels can be formed.
