Description
Timpo Mexican Rider with Knife (Wild West)
Figure: Mexican Rider with KnifeManufacturer: Timpo Toys
Year: 1970s
Condition: New
Timpo Mexican Rider with Knife from the Wild West series by Timpo Toys (approximately 8 cm tall), original from the first half of the 1970s in near-mint condition. The figure consists of 10 individual plug-in parts: hat, head, torso, knife, legs, saddle cloth, saddle, reins, horse, base plate. This is a Mexican from the so-called 2nd generation (2nd production of Mexicans at Timpo), identifiable by the dark brown colour of the head and hands.
Timpos are plug-in toy soldiers made of polyethylene (soft, flexible plastic) from the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approximately 5 cm tall and consist of several individual plug-in parts that can be combined and interchanged with each other. Through the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were moulded from plastic granules of different colours on top of each other, creating a three-dimensional level of detail. Timpos are vintage collectible figures and yet are usually relatively affordable to obtain.
