Description

The Spider - Master of Men 1943 December

Pulp: The Spider (Vol. 30 No. 2)
Authors: Grant Stockbridge and others
Language: English
Publisher: Popular Publications
Year: December 1943
Condition: Good, G, 2.0

The Spider is a pulp, a magazine made from highly wood-based paper (approx. 17x23cm). In the 100-page magazine, The Spider fights crime with his two 45s. Like The Shadow, The Spider was also a typical vigilante hero of the pulp magazines, which were a direct inspiration for the early superhero comics of the 1940s. The magazine is richly illustrated with black-and-white artwork and is in a noticeably used condition. Pulps are still collected today as prized items, either for their vibrant retro cover art or for their authors.
