The Simpsons Bart's Nightmare - SNES - DE

Bart Simpson has to stay up late and write an essay for class tomorrow. For once, he is determined to get a good grade. But very soon he falls asleep. One nightmare after another haunts his subconscious, and it's up to you to overcome each one so that Bart finally wakes up. Bart's Nightmare is an action game based on the TV cartoon series The Simpsons. The player controls Bart through the side-scrolling overworld, collects pages of his homework whilst avoiding various enemies modelled on characters from the series. For example, his sister Lisa occasionally transforms him into a frog, Principal Skinner forces him to wear a Sunday school uniform (which slows his movements), and so on. Bart can fend off enemies by blowing chewing gum at them. Once a homework page has been found, the player can go through coloured doors and participate in various mini-games. In doing so, Bart transforms into "Bartzilla", a giant monster that wants to destroy Springfield; he swims through Bart's own bloodstream and uses air pumps to kill germs; he is attacked by Itchy and Scratchy, the duo from the metafictional violent cartoon; he flies as superhero Bartman over the city and fights bosses; and he explores as Indiana Bart the treacherous columns in Maggie's temple.
