Super Gameboy - SNES - DE

Super Dropzone: Intergalactic Rescue Mission is a sequel to Archer MacLean's Dropzone. The game takes place ten years after the events of the original game. Back then, a selection of the world's best people embarked on an expedition to the Jupiter moon Io to search for valuable minerals. They were attacked by an alien race, which the player had to defend them against. Now they have managed to establish bases on three more Jupiter moons – Callisto, Ganymede and Europa. The threat from the aliens is still very real and must be protected by the player. The gameplay is largely the same as in the original Dropzone game, although there are some new weapons and boss fights at the end of the level. The player controls an astronaut with a jetpack and can fly in all directions over the lunar surface while killing wave after wave of aliens. At the same time, the player must protect the ten people assigned to him on the moon by bringing them to the Dropzone landing site. The plot unfolds on the aforementioned moons as well as on Jupiter itself. In the final level on each moon, the player must defeat a planetary guardian. To do this, the player must hit the glowing green nerve centre of the guardian, which becomes occasionally visible as the guardian moves. Each wave begins with all remaining people being beamed up by a leader enemy, and to free the men, this enemy must be defeated.
