Solomon Kane: Classic Collection

SOLOMON KANE, THE FIRST GREAT HERO FROM CONAN CREATOR ROBERT E. HOWARD, IN HIS CLASSIC MARVEL ADVENTURES! Robert E. Howard created many unforgettable heroes for American pulp magazines. Even before his barbarian Conan, he conceived the puritan adventurer Solomon Kane. In poems and stories spanning fantasy and horror, Howard sent him out as a champion of good, fighting evil across the 16th century. In 1973, Solomon Kane became a Marvel hero, his adventures brought to life by Roy Thomas, Howard Chaykin, David Wenzel, Ralph Macchio, Don Glut, Mike Mignola and others. This volume collects all the classic Marvel comics featuring Solomon Kane published up to 1994: in famous anthology series such as Marvel Premiere; in the fantasy-art-focused comic magazine The Savage Sword of Conan; or in Solomon Kane's own first series as the title hero. Thanks to this collection's complete, chronological compilation, you can trace Kane's path through Marvel and comic history in superb detail – and wander the world alongside the scourge of evil! Whether in rich colour or atmospheric black and white, the adaptations of Howard's texts and the Marvel creators' new stories are always fantastic genre entertainment. Kane faces werewolves, demons, vampires, dragons and pirates, and his travels take him around the entire world – to the Black Forest, to southern France, into the shadow of Castle Frankenstein and to the African continent. He even meets Dracula and the Cimmerian Conan … Background articles and bonus material, meanwhile, offer insight into the myth of Solomon Kane and his career as a Marvel character.
