Sega Superstars Tennis - Nintendo Wii - EN

The numerous franchises of Sega come together in a tennis tournament that spans the different worlds created by them over the last twenty years. Sixteen characters from fifteen different Sega game series are represented, along with ten different tennis courts based on the same franchises. The game features an Exhibition and a Tournament mode. The former is a straightforward competitive mode, whilst the Tournament mode gives the player the opportunity to unlock new characters and courts in a series of matches and other challenges, all relating to tennis but also heavily inspired by the video game medium. Singles and doubles can be played by either humans or AI, with the player able to select their own doubles partner. The differences between versions are noteworthy, as the Wii game forgoes online play and instead offers three different control methods: the Wii Remote (similar to Wii Sports Tennis), the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, or the Classic Controller. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions include online play. Each character has a special move that helps them in their tennis match and relates to the respective character. Beat from Jet Set Radio, for example, has an ability that allows him to slide the ball against the net and fire it off at a random point, making it difficult to return. Mini-games are included both as one-off actions and as part of the tournament. These include a target shooting game, the zombie-killing game "The House of the Dead" (you must hit moving zombies on the court before the timer runs out), a Space Harrier game, a Puyo Puyo game, a Virtua Cop game, and a Samba De Amigo game.
