Description
The Magician!
The High Priestess!
The Hierophant!
Long before the modern age of Duelling, these names (and many others) held great power when placed on cards. The wisest mystics spent centuries trying to see into the future by tapping into the power of these cards. Each one held a special meaning – for those who recognised the signs.
Now these cards have taken on a life of their own, proclaiming your prophecies as Prophecy monsters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME!
The Power of Prophecy
Prophecy monsters are a new kind of spellcaster searching for creation's most hidden secrets. They already possess the power of card divination. Now they're after a new source of power: Spellbooks.
Four significant Spellbooks are already under their control, granting them power, life, wisdom and secrets. ANY spellcaster can use these Spellbooks – but if you manage to play the Spellbooks together with the Prophecy monsters whose effects match exactly, you can double their effectiveness.
The more your Prophecy monsters' knowledge combines, the stronger they can become. With the right monsters in play, you only need 1 Spellbook to activate all their abilities. Then shuffle it back into your deck and draw it again. Knowledge is power!
With just one Spellbook you can Temperance of Prophecy offer as a Tribute, to Special Summon a DARK or LIGHT spellcaster of Level 5 or higher directly from your Deck. What would you like: Dark Magician? Endymion, the Master Magician? Or, brand new, High Priestess of Prophecy?
Return of the Duelist is just the starting gun for these exciting new monsters. It's time to build your deck against your opponents, because the very next card you draw could be the key to the victory you've been searching for!
The Machines Are Taking Over!
You thought it was just a tiny, harmless little gear. You thought it was just a cute little machine that couldn't hurt a fly. You were wrong. These supposedly harmless Gearframes from Generation Force spent the last year summoning their friends – and now everyone has shown up to the party.
Led by the mysterious super-bot Gear Gigant X the Gearframes wage an endless war against urban decay, constantly assembling new soldiers to take over the streets and blow away abandoned flats and derelict buildings. If you're thinking about rebuilding your deck, you should give the Gearframes a try!
These Cards Shouldn't Exist
Time itself is out of control! Now you can add some of history's most famous artefacts to your deck, such as the moai statues of Easter Island and the giant stone heads of the Olmecs. However, you've changed the course of history by going back to fetch these treasures of antiquity! Now people from the past possess technology they never had back then, and anomalies have crept into the timestream, resulting in Chronomat monsters – monsters that shouldn't exist, but somehow do.
Crystal skulls and golden jets are crazy enough, but they're nothing compared to the Inca super-fortress of stone floating through the sky. Time is turned upside down!
Time for a Snack
Feeling peckish? Try the snack that always hits the spot: Magidolce! (The name comes from "Magic" and "Dolce", the Italian word for sweets). When Magidolce monsters are destroyed, they go back to the Deck instead of the Graveyard – because there's always room for a good dessert! If you control the Magidolce Castle you control, your Magidolce return to your hand instead of your Deck, so you can Summon them again. Get seconds!
With no monsters at all in the Graveyard, this deck has a great combo potential with Guardian Eatos (sold separately), who needs an empty Graveyard to be Summoned (who knew Eatos had such a sweet tooth!).
More GX Cards
If you're looking for more Yu-Gi-Oh! GX cards that can be combined with your cards from Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years and Ra Yellow Mega-Pack , you can stop searching! Return of the Duelist offers you 2 new GX cards: Miracle Contact and Advanced Dark.
Miracle Contact lets you Special Summon any “Elemental HERO” Fusion Monster that specifically requires Elemental HERO Neos as Fusion Material. What's great about Miracle Contact though, is that you can use Fusion Material from your hand, field OR Graveyard, and completely ignore all of the Fusion Monster's special requirements! From Elemental HERO Dark Neos to Elemental HERO Neos Knight you now have everything at hand.
Advanced Dark turns all your Crystal Beasts into the evil DARK versions you know from the late TV episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. Besides transforming into DARK monsters, your Crystal Beasts let you negate battle damage to your Life Points by sending Crystal Beasts from your Deck to the Graveyard – from where you can use them with Crystal Blessing or Rainbow Gravity . Advanced Dark also allows Rainbow Dragon and Rainbow Dark Dragon to negate the effects of monsters they destroy.
So, get back in the game – here we go again!
Bigger Is Better!
Finally, there are 2 cards in Return of the Duelist, that reward you for thinking big. REALLY BIG!
First up, there's Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer – a big, big monster with a big, big name! This Rank 10 Xyz Monster hits the field with 5000 ATK – making it the biggest Xyz Monster around! Not even Spells and Traps can stop it, because you can use its effect to destroy ALL Spell and Trap Cards – and your opponent can't do a thing about it!
Secondly, we have Advance Zone. This Continuous Spell Card rewards you when you offer Tributes, based on the number of monsters you use as Tributes per turn for a Tribute Summon.
If you offer one monster as a Tribute, you can destroy one of your opponent's Set cards.
If you offer two monsters as Tributes, you get the first effect described above AND draw a card.
If you offer three monsters as Tributes, you get both effects described above AND get to bring a monster back from your Graveyard to your hand.
You can Advance Zone even activate it after your Tribute Summon – the card still counts the monsters you offered as Tributes this turn! Advance Zone is a powerful new weapon that supports Tribute-focused decks – such as Stahlschar, Monarchs, dragons, or basically any deck that works with high-Level monsters, like the Egyptian God cards!!!
