Pocket Soccer is a fast, simplified football game played with teams of five players and two substitutes. One action button is used for shooting, the other for passing the ball or tackling opponents. The following game modes are available: Quick Start (two teams and a playing field are randomly selected), Exhibition (you can choose your team, the opposing team and the playing field), Playoffs (you can choose between 8, 16 and 32 teams) and League (you must bring your team to the top and can exchange players). There are 12 fictional playing fields to choose from (sports hall, street, beach, schoolyard...). Each player has their own statistics (endurance, skill, strength in duels, agility, accuracy, power, teamwork, speed and even IQ) which affect the entire team. In addition, many parameters can be adjusted, whether for teams whose names, colours, composition and line-up you can change, or for players whose names, gender and facial features you can change. There is also a 2-player mode, for which two Game Boy Colours must be connected via a Game Link cable.
