Nonogrammes are number puzzles where the solution must be found through logic. On the sides of the game grid are clues that tell the player how many squares to fill in each row and column. Using logic, the player can figure out which squares in the grid to fill in. The thinking process is similar to solving Sudoku puzzles. Mario's Picross (from PICture CROSSword) is Nintendo's version of nonogrammes. In this game, Mario takes on the role of an archaeologist who chisels away the squares in each playing field. The result is a small picture. There are 256 different puzzles to solve, divided into four courses with increasing difficulty levels.
