Description
In the sequel to Lemmings, it is described how the lemmings have split into 12 different tribes. Each tribe has its own landscape and cultural identity, such as Egyptians, Circus and Highlands. However, Lemming Island is now in danger, and you must complete 10 levels for each tribe so they can reunite and assemble the talisman from the 12 pieces. In the 120 levels there are over 60 skills, although no more than 10 per screen can be used. The Classic tribe contains the skills from the original and is perhaps the best option for beginners. The others range from digging methods such as the Digger (diagonally downwards) and the Club Smacker (horizontally) to building skills such as the Planter (takes time to produce the desired increase in landscape) and the Sand Caster, to various movement methods such as the Pole Vaulter and the Skater (the only lemmings that can walk on ice). Some of them differ only slightly from others, and their exact usefulness is unclear, but there are 4 trainer levels where you can select any combination of skills and experiment. Unlike the first game, the player is rewarded for saving as many lemmings as possible rather than just passing or failing. The ultimate goal is to save all 60 lemmings through all levels and earn a gold medal for the tribe – silver and bronze are also available. The player can also go back through levels, hoping to save more lemmings. Since there are 12 tribes and the player can switch between them at any time, you have to get stuck 12 times to not progress further. The game saves progress and does not use passwords like the first game.
