Incredible Hulk #110
Comic: Incredible Hulk #110Language: English
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Year: December 1968
Condition: Very Good Plus, VG+, 4.5
Incredible Hulk #110 takes the story to the wild land of Ka-Zar. The writer is Stan Lee, with art by Herb Trimpe, who significantly shaped the Hulk's appearance in this late phase of the Silver Age of comics. This issue features the characteristic "stony" Hulk logo for the first time. The comic is in a used condition and has water damage above the title lettering.
The Hulk is one of the oldest superhero characters in the Marvel Universe. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee created him in 1962 as a kind of tragic Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde character. Contaminated by an accident involving radioactive radiation, physicist Dr. Bruce Banner transforms (usually involuntarily) into a huge green monster that everyone has known at the latest since the Marvel films: the Hulk. The series initially ran for 6 issues before being cancelled. A few years later he was revived in the Tales to Astonish series, where he caused havoc from issue 60 onwards. This comic series was renamed after #101 and became Incredible Hulk with #102. Incidentally, one of the most famous Marvel superheroes made his first appearance in this series: Wolverine first appeared in Incredible Hulk #181 in October 1974.
