Illustrierte Klassiker #29 with the comic adaptation of Erlebnisse mit Wilden Tieren by Frank Buck. The comic issue is in good used condition.

The comic series Illustrierte Klassiker was published in German by Bildschriftenverlag (BSV) from 1956 to 1972 and reached 205 issues. It was the German version of the American Classics Illustrated - classics of world literature presented in comic form. The artists were often exceptionally skilled, many of the novels were adapted very well into the comic medium, and for many young readers it was their first contact with literary classics. On the back of the comics (or on the last page of the issue) the available and re-orderable issue numbers were listed. Based on this highest listed number (or HLN) the print run of the comics can be determined, as strong demand often meant they were reprinted several times. It's clear that collectors today are mainly interested in first editions.
