Description
Game & Watch Gallery is Nintendo's first portable collection of its popular series of original handheld games from the 1980s, featuring the beloved "Mr. Game & Watch" himself, as well as Mario and his friends. The collection consists of four popular titles from the Game & Watch series, each with a "classic" and a "modern" version of the game: Octopus: Collect as many treasures as your bag can hold whilst avoiding the octopus tentacles constantly rotating around you. In the "modern" version, Mario becomes a diver, and the more treasures he collects, the heavier his bag becomes, making it harder to return to the surface. Mario can also stop the octopus tentacles by throwing treasures at them. Fire: Position your net so it catches the falling people jumping from the burning building. In the "modern" version, Mario and Luigi rescue Toad, Yoshi and Donkey Kong Jr. from Princess Peach's castle. Each falling figure has different weights and fall patterns. Gully: The player must cover the holes to prevent constantly running people from falling through the shafts into the sewers. In the "modern" version, Yoshi must use his tongue to prevent Mario, Toad and Donkey Kong Jr. from falling through the hole, with each figure having different speeds and fall patterns. Oil Panic: The player must collect the dripping oil droplets before they slip and destroy everything. In the "modern" version, Bowser throws oil droplets at Mario, who must catch the oil and tip it to Yoshi before the Koopa King attacks Mario. Each mode (Classic and Modern) has two difficulty levels: Easy and Hard. The higher the score a player achieves in each version, the more unlockable bonuses are available in the "Gallery Corner". These bonuses include release dates, images and animations that tell the story behind Gunpei Yokoi's portable creations in greater detail. Less
