The Magician!
The High Priestess!
The Hierophant!
For thousands of years, the legendary city of Heliopolis was guarded by nine ancient dragons – the Sacred Dragons!
Together, these Sacred Dragons – Nuit, Gebeb, Eset, Nebthet, Tefnuit, Su, Asar, Sutekh, and Atum – have defended civilisation against dangers you cannot even begin to imagine.
With the power of their mysterious Sacred Seals, nothing can match the might of the Sacred Dragons. Especially not when they call upon the ultimate power of the sun to summon Sacred Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis!
Now the Sacred Dragons of Heliopolis have been reborn and come to you to defend you against your opponents!
The power of the sun
The Sacred Dragons consist of 12 monsters in total: 8 Sacred Dragon Effect Monsters, 2 Sacred Xyz Monsters, and 2 Normal Monsters of the Sacred Seal (one of which is a twin monster!).
The eight Sacred Dragon Effect Monsters have many different powers. But in addition to their unique abilities, they also share a few things in common:
- Most of these monsters have the ability to Special Summon themselves onto the field.
- All have high ATK.
- Most can Special Summon a Normal Dragon-Type Monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard (usually when they are Tributed).
Your Normal Dragon-Type Monsters are your Monsters of the Sacred Seal: Sacred Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord (Level 8) and Sacred Seal of the Dragon King (Level 6; although this monster is actually a twin monster, it counts as a Normal Monster on the field or in the Graveyard).
Since your Sacred Dragons can easily summon these Normal Monsters, they are the tools to bring your ultimate Xyz Monsters onto the field:
- Sacred Seal of the Dragon King (Level 6) helps you Xyz Summon Sacred Dragon King of Atum (Rank 6), which in turn has the power to summon MORE dragons from your Deck.
- Sacred Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord (Level 8) helps you summon Sacred Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis (Rank 8). This Xyz Monster lets you Tribute monsters from your hand or the field to destroy an equal number of cards on the field.
(Don't forget: whenever a Sacred Dragon is Tributed, it summons a Normal Dragon-Type Monster. So if you use the power of the Sun Dragon Overlord and Tribute your Sacred Dragons for it, you'll get MORE dragons onto the field. Which can then be used to perform even MORE Xyz Summons!)
Here's an example showing you one of many possible ways to bring your noble Sacred Xyz Monsters onto the field via Xyz Summon!
The Sacred Seals
The Sacred Dragons kept evil at bay for thousands of years – with the power of their Sacred Seals. As you've seen, two of these seals have taken shape in the form of monsters. But many other seals are available as Spells and Traps, each with different powers.
Use Sacred Seal of Summoning to bring a Sacred Monster out of your Deck, or Sacred Seal of Superiority to summon a Sacred Monster from your hand. As the name suggests, Sacred Seal of Banishment banishes an opponent's monster from the Duel. And Sacred Seal of Reflection stops any Trap, Spell, or monster effect – as long as you control a Sacred Monster.
But the most versatile seal of all is Sacred Seal from the Ashes. This Continuous Trap Card has three different powers. First, it lets you put 1 Sacred Monster from your Deck into your Graveyard during each of your opponent's turns. This way, you place your Monsters of the Sacred Seal in the Graveyard, from where you can easily summon them by using the effects of your Sacred Dragons (the best part is: while the twin monster Sacred Seal of the Dragon King is in your Graveyard, it counts as a Normal Monster, so you can Special Summon it via your Sacred Dragons). Second, Sacred Seal from the Ashes brings back one of your banished Sacred Monsters on each of your turns and places it in your Graveyard. And third – if this Trap Card is ever destroyed, a Sacred Monster rises from the Graveyard and is Special Summoned onto the field.
The dragons' powers work for YOU
Galactic Overlord features many other cards that give dragons a boost, not just for Sacred decks, but for MANY other decks too.
Dragon Link swaps a dragon from your hand with a dragon from your Deck, as long as both are the same Level. If you're playing with different dragons of the same Level, Dragon Link lets you exchange what you need for what you have. Best of all, this works in ANY deck that uses dragons.
Sacred Dragons work a lot with Tributes and gain free effects when they themselves are Tributed. With Tricks to Triumph is the ultimate Spell Card that rewards a deck with a Tribute background. This Spell Card grants you different effects depending on how many monsters you Tributed during the current turn (even if they were Tributed from the hand, such as Sacred Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis). Tribute 1 monster and you draw a card. Tribute 2 monsters and you get 2 monsters back from your Graveyard instead. Tribute 3 monsters and you can instead destroy up to 3 cards on the field. With Tricks to Triumph works great in Sacred decks, Ritual decks, decks with a Tribute background, and many other decks that don't even need to include dragons!
Lightray Monsters
Some of your absolute favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG monsters see the light of day once again! They've been transformed into Lightray Monsters – LIGHT versions of their former selves. Each of the five Lightray Monsters in Galactic Overlord has a built-in ability to Special Summon it onto the field, plus amazing new powers. Lightray Monsters fit wonderfully into Lightsworn, Sacred, or Photon decks – or into any other LIGHT deck you build.
Lucky number 7!
Are you blessed with luck? Then try these Rank 7 Xyz Monsters from Galactic Overlord.
Number 7: Lucky Straight lets you roll the dice to decide how strong the monster is. If you roll a 7, Number 7: Lucky Straight gets incredible extra powers! With the right roll, you can send everything else on the field to the Graveyard, Special Summon a monster of your choice, or take the top three cards of your Deck.
They say luck favours the bold, but if you want to play it safe, use the hypnotic gaze of Number 11: Big Eye to lure your opponent's monsters to your side of the field to fight for you! By detaching one of its Xyz Materials, Number 11: Big Eye permanently takes control of one of your opponent's monsters. Big Eye also has 2600 ATK on top of that!
Why no orcs in ORCS?
Galactic Overlord is the successor to the booster set Order of Chaos, released in January 2012, whose abbreviation was ORCS. Why were there no orcs in ORCS? Maybe because this poor fellow missed the bus…
These are just some of the highlights awaiting you in Galactic Overlord. There are also new cards for Inzektor, Evol, and Photon decks, among many others, plus cool new cards such as the Bouncers!
Booster contents with 9 cards:- 1 Rare, Super Rare, Ultra Rare, or Ultimate Rare card
