FIFA Football - Game Boy Advance - EN

Electronic Arts' long-running FIFA football series makes its debut on the Game Boy Advance with FIFA Soccer 2003. It offers a selection of teams and modes from the simultaneous console version, with simpler controls and traditional two-dimensional graphics. The game features 14 leagues (the same as in the console version without the Brazilian league), including the English Premier League, German Bundesliga, Spanish Primera División, Italian Serie A and North American Major League Soccer. In addition, there are 16 teams from the rest of the world (compared to 40 in the console version) and 40 international teams. It features a licence for real player names, with leagues and squads based on the 2002-2003 season. Teams can be used in friendly matches, two-player games via link cable and a range of competitions. These include league matches for all included leagues, the Club Championship (a league featuring the 18 best European clubs), the EFA Trophy (similar to the real UEFA Cup, but unlicensed) and the European Cup (similar to the real UEFA Champions League, but unlicensed). Game progress is saved in battery-backed RAM, with two save slots available. Gameplay is viewed from an isometric top-down perspective parallel to the sideline. Controls allow for lobs, shots and passes in attack, as well as cautious and hard tackles in defence, with a sprint function also available. Selectable options include various skill levels (separate for team and goalkeeper), extra time (with Golden Goal option) and weather and wind conditions.
