Donkey Kong Land 2 - Game Boy - DE

Tom Cruise's film made NASCAR racing accessible to the masses, and Mindscape has done the same for players with this licence. If you mentally change the driver names, you can view the game more as a simulation of real NASCAR racing than as a direct adaptation of the film. You play Cruise's character Cole Trickle (his name, like many others, differs slightly from that of an actual NASCAR racing driver of the time) against your rivals on 8 tracks modelled on their real counterparts. All races take place on ovals, with the exact lengths, types of curves and gradients varying. This means that the ideal line on one track might run you into the wall on another. In addition to the actual races, there is also qualifying. From time to time you must drive into the pit stop area. You control five members of the pit crew. If you lose time during the pit stop, you lose positions in the race. However, other racing drivers never drive into the pit. The NES version offers only the 3rd-person perspective.
