Donald in Maui Mallard - SNES - DE

Disney's Donald Duck plays the lead role in this side-scrolling platform game. As detective Maui Mallard, he is searching for a long-lost idol that has recently gone missing. At the beginning, Maui can also switch between his normal self and Ninja Maui, and with all the creepy Voodoo enemies he encounters during his adventure, he'll need all the help he can get. As mentioned, there are two personalities of Maui and correspondingly two different types of controls. Normal Maui carries a bug gun, with which he can fire a variety of different insect ammunition, from simple bugs to more powerful lightning and fire bugs. Additionally, Maui can combine bugs to attack his enemies with an even stronger weapon. Once Maui begins to find Yin-Yang coins, he can transform into Ninja Maui. Ninja Maui has lightning-fast reflexes and swings a Bo staff. Ninja Maui is not only practical for beating enemies, but can also climb between walls by jumping and bracing the staff between the walls at the height of his jump. He can also grip duck heads and swing down from them to reach areas he normally cannot reach. You must constantly find Yin-Yang coins to power up your Ninja personality, otherwise they run out and you transform back into Maui Mallard. The level layout in the Game Boy version is somewhat different, and there are fewer secrets to find.
