Avengers #67
Comic: Avengers #67Language: English
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Year: August 1969
Condition: Fine Plus, FN+, 6.5
Avengers #67 with a historic story by writer Roy Thomas and the then young artist Barry Smith, who has long since become a comic legend. His innovative page layout makes reading this issue a real visual treat, and he can hardly deny his admiration for his idol Jack Kirby. A truly classic Silver Age comic from Marvel in a good used condition.
The Avengers have been fighting the villains of Earth, and also those from other worlds, without interruption every month since 1963. Marvel's flagship superhero team was assembled by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby from superheroes already existing in the then young Marvel Universe. At the start it was Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Ant-Man and Wasp. Over time others joined, some left the team, later returned, or stayed away forever. The Avengers are today probably the most popular and best-known superhero team worldwide, of course also thanks to the Marvel films, which have introduced them even to non-comic fans.
